On behalf of the Presidency of the European Union, Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik expresses her sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in the devastating landslides in the Philippines and her heartfelt sympathy to the many thousands of people affected by these tragic events.
Foreign Minister Plassnik also underlines the European Union’s solidarity with the government of the Philippines.
A team of the European Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) is on its way to the affected region in order to get a clear picture of the situation with a view to possible assistance.
