Recalling the conclusions of the GAERC of January 30, 2006, the EU welcomes the progress made by the government and the opposition in improving the legislative framework for the referendum in Montenegro.
It calls on all parties to remain constructively engaged in the process and to work with the HR Personal Representative Miroslav Lajcak in order to agree also on the majority requirement, the date and the question of the referendum. In this context the EU fully supports the efforts and initiatives of Ambassador Lajcak.
