Media Accreditation

Pulse aquí para acceder a la página en español : acreditación en línea para los medios de comunicación

Welcome to the Austrian Presidency’s online media accreditation!

Media representatives can obtain accreditation here for the major events taking place in Austria.
Note: Attendance at these events is subject to prior accreditation.

Here you can find information on:

Accreditation for major events in Austria

Please apply for accreditation in good time for the major events, and no later than 14 days before the beginning of the first event you wish to attend. On-site accreditation will be possible only in exceptional cases and cannot be guaranteed. We would also point out that you may have to wait some time for your badge in this case.

Instructions

Click on the “Online media accreditation” link and enter your name and email address in the corresponding fields (log in, registration). You will then receive your personal password by return in your inbox, enabling you to access the media accreditation form.

The form also contains a list of events for which you can register. Please choose the events you wish to attend. As soon as the Federal Press Service receives your data, you will receive email confirmation of successful delivery. The Federal Press Service will also confirm your accreditation by email.

Note: The accreditation form only has to be filled in once. Your personal password allows you to change or add data to your registration form at any time (e.g. register for another event).

Requisite attachments

Please attach with your application for media accreditation a current colour passport photo in electronic format. If you do not have a press card, you must attach a letter from your media organisation assigning you personally to report on the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

These attachments must be sent in JPG format (maximum 150 KB).

Data check

We draw your attention to the fact that your data will be both checked for accuracy and scrutinised by the Austrian security authorities. Your data will of course be treated in confidence.

Issue of badges

A separate badge will be issued for each event. To receive the badge, you will have to present your accreditation confirmation and a valid press card or the original letter of assignment from your media organisation. An official identity document with photograph will also have to be presented (identity card, passport or driving licence).

Important: You will not be admitted to the press centre and to media events (press programme) without the badge. It is non-transferable and must be worn visibly at all times. You will also have to be able at all times to prove your identity by means of an official identity document with photograph. Loss of your badge must be reported immediately to the accreditation desk.

Please collect your badge for events in Vienna at the Conference Centre Hofburg Redoutensäle from the:

EU2006 Media Accreditation Office of the Federal Press Service
Vienna 1, Innerer Burghof

The EU2006 Media Accreditation Office will be at your disposal for the entire duration of the Austrian EU Presidency.

Please collect your badge for events taking place at venues other than the Conference Centre Hofburg Redoutensäle from the accreditation desk of the press centre concerned.
